All About Acne Treatment

Nowadays there are many types of acne treatments to choose from. But before choosing any option, it is wise to know what type of acne you have. Mild acne can be treated with home remedies. Sometimes, home remedies will not work for other categories of acne. For moderate acne, you have to go for topical medication or antibiotics. Pore cleansers that contain benzyl peroxide or salic acid are very effective for them. It will suppress acne by cleaning the pores and preventing the production of hormones and oil which cause acne.

Acne diagnosis is not very difficult because of its characteristic appearance. It is classified as mild, moderate, and severe according to its appearance and frequency. Mild acne appears as blackheads, whiteheads, or as small pimples. Moderate acne is a pimple with pus in the center. It usually appears on the face, as in the case of mild acne. But severe acne, also called nodular acne, develops as large and sore nodules, appears on the face, back, chest, and other body parts.

Acne care is very essential for a glowing, blemish-free skin, especially for face. Always wash your face with a mild cleanser which is safe for your acne and designed for your skin type. For make up, use only water-based cosmetics.
Many topical acne products, dry the skin. So use a moisturizer to prevent dryness and peeling of the skin. A gel-based moisturizer is suitable for oily skin, where as cream or lotion is good for dry skin. Normal skin needs equal combination of these products. Hydrate your skin before moisturizing. For acne care, you should also change your food habits. Instead of processed food, you have to take brown rice, oatmeal, whole wheat bread, and other fiber rich foods. Drink orange and lemon juice as well as plenty of water. Avoid salty chips, sugary snacks, junk foods, etc to keep away acne.
