Different Types Of Blood Pressure

In general, there are mainly two types of high blood pressure – primary hypertension and secondary hypertension. In White-coat Hypertension, your blood pressure maybe quite normal at home, but when you are at the doctor’s office, it may get elevated to a very high level. In Pseudo-hypertension your blood pressure is normal; the measuring equipment may show it to be alarmingly high. Malignant hypertension is the most dangerous types of high blood pressure, which may at times lead to brain damage, retinal bleeding, liver failure, and kidney damage.

Let’s discuss the root cause of blood pressure. It is caused by enhanced level of lipoproteins. There are two types of lipoproteins that carry cholesterol in your body. People generally keep wondering is cholesterol good or bad for their body. Low-density lipoproteins (LDL) cholesterol is the bad type of cholesterol. The higher the LDL cholesterol level in your body, the higher are your chances of getting a heart disease. The good type of cholesterol is known as High-density lipoprotein (HDL). HDL carries cholesterol from other parts of your body to your liver, which then removes it from your body. This means that higher the HDL levels in your body, the lesser would be the risk of your getting a heart disease.

Type 1 diabetes is a chronic disease. It is also called as Juvenile onset diabetes and Insulin-dependent diabetes. This ailment affects a greater proportion of children than adults. The immune system considers the beta cells of the pancreas as a foreign body and destroys them. Beta cells are responsible for producing the hormone insulin. Insulin enables the cells of the body to take in the glucose from the bloodstream and utilize it for various activities. The destruction of the beta cells means that either the production of insulin stops completely or is produced in minimal quantities. This results in high glucose levels in the blood.
