What All Changes You Feel During 37 Weeks Pregnancy

When 37 weeks pregnant, you are literally carrying a full term baby. This is the time that you are more excited than ever to cuddle your newborn baby. Now the baby is in the birth canal, eagerly waiting for the exit to see you. Your baby will not make much movement during this stage but you will be feeling pregnancy symptoms of uneasiness owing to your large sized belly. You will also have to urinate frequently because of the heaviness of your bladder. After an internal exam, your doctor or midwife can tell you the condition of the cervix, dilation of the uterus and how your baby is making progress. They will also give you a good idea about the time of your delivery.

Your weight will be about 35 pounds, when you are 37 weeks pregnant. Your baby will continue to grow and gain weight up to 28g per day. But your abdomen and uterus will not enlarge. You should not gain more than1 pound during this third trimester. At this stage your belly changes its shape and drops downward for the preparation of birth. Now you can able to raise your belly. You can notice weightiness in your pelvis and less strain in the lower part of your ribcage. This condition will make you to catch your breath easily. In rare cases some women lose weight at this stage.

Sometimes, there may be some spotting and you will have a menstrual – like feeling at 37 weeks pregnancy stage. This spotting may be brownish in color. This is the thickened mucous discharge with traces of blood which is blocking the cervical canal leading to uterus. It is natural and will continue for several days so don’t panic. If the discharge is bright red and feeling stomach pain contact your doctor at once. So pack up your suitcase with everything that you need in the hospital and get ready to welcome your baby…
