What Worsens Your Allergy Symptoms

Allergy is obviously one of the dreadful diseases among all. Some allergies even demand you to give up your favorite foods, drinks, and even pets! You have to do that as any negligence can worsen your allergy symptoms.

Any contact with the allergens that pose a problem for your body should be avoided. It will be better if you keep away from certain things such as aerosol sprays, nauseating fumes, tobacco smoke, wood smoke, pollution, cold or humid temperatures, and wind.

What People With Allergies Should Know

What one should avoid and what not, depends on the substance the person is allergic to. But it will always be good if extra care is taken in order to prevent the disease.

If you are allergic toward pollen or molds, never open your windows during the night when pollination occurs. Outdoor allergens may easily find their way inside and affect you. After washing your clothes, don’t hang it outside for drying during pollination season. It can trigger allergy.

Back home after the day’s work? Make it a point to change your clothes at the earliest. If you have eczema, wearing sweaty clothes will worsen the condition.
If you are allergic to pollution outside, make it a point to travel early morning or late evening when you can expect less traffic and less pollution.

People suffering from food allergies should never eat outside. You never know the ingredients in outside food that can be bad for your allergy. If you are allergic to dust mites and you have to travel, better carry your own dust-proof covers for pillows and beds. At hotels, ask for allergy proof rooms, if possible.

Love pets? But what if you are allergic toward pet danders? Avoid them. Never take the risk to fondle pets if they cause allergy to you. Pet danders usually make allergy worse during winter season.

House cleaning is yet another major requirement to keep allergens at bay. Make it a habit to clean all the ducts and vents and go for air cleaning filter to keep your house fresh and neat. Wash your bed spreads and pillow covers in hot water and clean your drapes, carpets, furniture, and other household items to make it dust-free.

While going in the car, always use the air conditioner rather than opening your windows. Use a dehumidifier to lower the humidity in your house to avoid allergens that thrive in damp conditions.

Stress and anxiety always have a negative effect on allergy patients. Smoking or getting exposed to any kind of smoke can also worsen the situation if the person is already suffering from asthma. If you are prone to oral allergy, ensure that you do not eat any foods that can trouble you.

Remember one thing - you are your own take-carer. Your allergy can worsen and even turn harmful if you do not take things seriously. Be aware of anything that your body cannot tolerate. Just take out some extra time to care for your body and nothing can harm you.
